HOUSTON & WOOSTER
︎ NEW YORK CITY, 2016
︎ A micro-unit housing proposal calling for twenty 20ft x10ft (6.1m x 3m) units situated on a narrow site footprint. An opportunity to reconcile urban solo housing with airy, natural ventilation. Upon entry residents are welcomed by a communal plaza with prominent greenery. The suspended units are fixed in air, relegating structural loads to the perimeter to maximize unimpeded space. Balconies provide a private and accessible escape to the outdoors with ample light and air. All circulation is open and no two exterior walls are adjacent. Studies on a predilection for avian nesting behaviors were not conducted.
